I’m not Paranoid I’ve Got Proof!
Isn’t that what all paranoids say?
Robert D. Hare is a researcher renowned in the field of criminal psychology. He is professor emeritus of the University of British Columbia where his studies centered on psychopathology and psychophysiology.
Writing about psychopaths Hare states that: “Lacking in conscience and empathy, they take what they want and do as they please, violating social norms and expectations without guilt or remorse. What is missing, in other words, are the very qualities that allow a human being to live in social harmony“.
According to Hare, the consensus among researchers in this area is psychopathy stems from a specific neurological disorder which is biological in origin and present from birth.
I no longer use the term Corporatocracy since reading Political Ponerology, A Science on the Nature of Evil Adjusted for Political Purposes by Andrew Lobaczewski. The correct term is obviously … Pathocracy.
Our ruling elite … the leaders and policy makers in our government, the media, the military, and in Wall Street and Corporate boardrooms are, as Robert Hare described, “intraspecies predators“.
Psychopaths.
It’s the kind of realization that made me want to run shouting through the streets like Kevin McCarthy at the end of the 1956 version of Invasion of the Body Snatchers.
Look! You’re in danger! Can’t you see? They’re after you! They’re after all of us! Our wives, our children, everyone! They’re here already! You’re next! You’re next! You’re next!
Though the observation is correct … it wouldn’t do a whole lot of good to go berserk in public until the cops showed up to beat me into a peaceful dreamlike state. It’s better to take H.A.L.’s advice from 2001, “I can tell from the tone of your voice, Dave, that you’re upset. Why don’t you take a stress pill and get some rest.”
But after a refreshing lie down after munching on some flavor of Benzodiazapine, the uncomfortable fact remains: The people in charge, the people who make the rules and call the shots, the people in control of our planet’s destiny, the people with The Big Guns, are seriously insane. And it’s not just some sort of whimsical insanity we’re talking about here. This isn’t about a bunch of bulgy eyed, sweat glazed loonies babbling about alien bases on the moon.
These people gain satisfaction through antisocial behavior. They have neither empathy nor conscience. They do not experience shame, guilt, or remorse. They can plan the deaths of thousands after breakfast without spoiling their appetite for lunch. They dominate our society and have forced us all to accept their terms.
The proof is simple. Any statement, any policy, any action by our institutional leaders devoid of empathy or conscience is evidence of a psychopath at work.
Who else but a psychopath would describe blowing innocent women and children into a bloody mist as collateral damage? Who else but a group of psychopaths would dole out $12.3 trillion in our taxpayer money to the richest people in the world, while in this country a home goes into foreclosure every seven seconds? Only psychopaths are capable of lying our country into illegal wars so they can reap billions by causing the deaths of millions.
Only a psychopath like Kate O’Beirne, the Washington editor of National Review, while speaking to Republican leaders, could accuse struggling parents of criminal negligence because they need a school breakfast program to help feed their children … then turn around and advocate for continuing tax breaks for the richest Americans.
Many times we’ve all thought after reading or hearing the latest Republican tirade, “These people are shameless.”
We were right. They are incapable of that emotion or other “ … qualities that allow a human being to live in social harmony“. They’re psychopaths. And as soon as we completely understand on a cellular level that we’re dealing with “intraspecies predators” the better chances we have of escaping the slaughterhouse.
Mainstream Media is no help. Their job is to distract us.
Auto da fe (Act of Faith) was the ritual execution of heretics by the Inquisition after a confession had been extracted. As the condemned were led to where they would be burned to death, a painting of a pleasant scene would be held in front of them filling their field of view so they couldn’t see the awaiting stake.
The primary function of Brian Williams, Wolf Blitzer, Brit Hume, Katie Couric, and the rest of the haircuts on the nightly news (they’re either psychopaths or don’t mind getting paychecks from psychopaths) is to describe the pleasant painting to us as we make our way to the awaiting pyre. The rest of the time they join in with the gasbags on FOX to scare the crap out of us so we’re all terrified of what might happen on the day before tomorrow.
If we’re too stupid and scared to know what’s going on, Right Now! … while we’re living through it, we won’t recognize the psychopaths among us nor understand that capitalism is their method of oppression.
Malcolm X was a Very Scary Black Man who terrified White America because he told the truth:
“The press is so powerful in its image-making role, it can make a criminal look like he’s the victim and make the victim look like he’s the criminal. … If you aren’t careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed and loving the people who are doing the oppressing.”
“You show me a capitalist, and I’ll show you a bloodsucker.”
